The defining feature of FreeCell is the four "free cells" at the top of the screen. These cells act as temporary storage for single cards, allowing you to move cards out of the way to access others. On the tableau, you build sequences in descending rank with alternating colors, similar to Klondike. Unlike Klondike, any card, not just a King, can fill an empty tableau column. The fundamental difference between Klondike Solitaire and FreeCell lies in visibility and control.
