How to play
How to play Blackjack Practice
Blackjack Practice is free in the browser on Play Online Games, with play chips only and no real money. Get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Hit, Stand, Double, or Split a pair once. The dealer stands on all 17s and a blackjack pays 3:2.
Steps
- Place a bet with play chips. Chips have no cash value and cannot be bought or won.
- You and the dealer each get two cards. One dealer card stays face down.
- Number cards count their value, face cards count 10, and an Ace counts 1 or 11, whichever helps the hand.
- Press Hit for another card or Stand to keep your total. Double adds one card and doubles the bet on your first two cards. Split turns a pair into two hands, once per round.
- The dealer draws until reaching 17 or more and stands on all 17s. The higher total without going over 21 wins. Ties are a push.
Tips to play better
- Always hit a hard total of 11 or less. You cannot go over 21.
- Stand on a hard 17 or more. The chance of going over is too high.
- With 12 to 16, look at the dealer up card. Stand against a 2 to 6 (the dealer is more likely to go over), and hit against a 7 or higher.
- Double on 11, and on 10 when the dealer shows 9 or lower.
- Always split Aces and 8s. Never split 10s or 5s.
- A soft hand has an Ace counted as 11. Hit soft 17 or less, since one card cannot make you go over.
