How to play Minesweeper

Minesweeper is free in the browser with Beginner 9x9, Intermediate 16x16, and Expert 16x30. Your first click is always safe.

Steps

Choose Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert.
Click a cell to reveal it. The first click is never a mine.
A number shows how many mines touch that cell.
Right-click or long-press to flag a mine. On a phone, move your finger off the cell if you started a scroll.
Chord a satisfied number by clicking it to open the rest of its neighbors. Clear every safe cell to win.

Is Minesweeper free?

Is the first click safe?

Yes. The first open cell is never a mine on any difficulty.

How do I flag a mine on a phone?

Long-press a closed cell. If you start to scroll, the long-press cancels.
